Since 1969, IAR in NYC has taught audio recording, audio engineering, and music production. Our grads pursue careers in music recording, production, live sound, radio/TV/film, and more. Our teachers are active in the world music scene, keeping our program relevant and stimulating. IAR fosters individual growth within a committed, supportive community. Trained specialists are with you in each class, grads can return for complimentary re-training, and placement extends beyond graduation. Our balanced program focuses on practice and theory, using Pro Tools, MIDI training, recording in our studio, advanced mixing, and much more. Federal Title IV grants/loans, school scholarships, extended payment plans and Veterans aid are available if you qualify. We are both NYS licensed and ACCSC accredited.
