What: Tips for the REASON Power User (Part II)
When: Tuesday, February 3rd, 6:30 PM
Where: IAR, Room 21/21A
Who: Dana McCurdy (IAR Instructor and award-winning Electronic Music Specialist)
On Tuesday, February 3rd, IAR students will be able to continue to delve into REASON, the powerful music production program. PART I was a great success and all are encouraged to attend the follow-up seminar. In Part II of this seminar, Dana will demonstrate some of the newer and more extensive features of Reason 4.0 (the current “full” version of the program which has been available in IAR’s MIDI lab since earlier this spring).
Students will learn about advanced tricks and techniques including:
- Exporting REX files to NN-XT (for advanced mixing and processing options)
- Multi-band processing using MClass mastering effects
- Original sound programming in Thor and Malstrom synthesizers
- Advanced modulation techniques using Matrix step sequencers
- Using the Vocoder to build unique rhythmic timbres
- Creating Combinators for layered sounds and custom Macro controls
- More back panel patching techniques, including Redrum gates for doubling drum sounds and building “synth” percussion grooves
PART I was very popular so be sure to sign up for the event at the Front Desk on the 3rd floor, and arrive early to get a seat.
