Daniel Ricci currently holds the position of VP, Sales & Marketing for Carlson Audio Visual based out of the NY Marriott Marquis in Times Square, NY.
Daniel graduated from Institute of Audio Research in January 2006. While attending IAR, Daniel scored an internship with Top 40 powerhouse K104.7 in Beacon, NY. Since class was during the morning, he took the train straight to the station to work afternoons and evenings wherever his efforts were needed most. Then, after working until midnight most days, wake up at 5:00am to catch the train south to Manhattan for class at 8:00am. Also during this time, he moonlighted at a local studio in Poughkeepsie, NY that catered to artists of many different genres.
Upon graduating IAR, Daniel was offered a position as Asst. Broadcast Engineer to the Chief Engineer at Pamal Broadcasting. The technical skills learned at IAR from soldering cable, testing outboard equipment, etc. easily translated to his new position. He also took on freelance work at various studios in Manhattan (before they closed), toured internationally as the FOH Engineer for Off-Broadway production company, NY Stage Originals, and built his own studio and developed LLC, SoundLab Productions for VoiceOver, Production, & Creative Service work signing with Atlas Talent Agency. After leaving his position as Asst. Broadcast Engineer, he was offered a full-time position on-air at K104.7 from 2007 to 2008. It didn’t matter what the job required, if it was in the “business” Daniel applied himself to experience the lessons most books simply couldn’t teach you.
With an endless and unquenchable thirst for challenge and success, Daniel finally found a career worth investing long term in the world of audio visual and live event services. Working in both private and public venues since 2008, Daniel has produced corporate programs for the likes of Microsoft, Google, and Goldman Sachs CEOs to the inventors of Instagram and FourSquare. He is consistently involved with the production design for various performances that include artists such as Sting, One Republic, Billy Joel, Cindi Lauper, Carrie Underwood, Steven Tyler, Toby Keith, John Legend, Last Bandoleros, and the list goes on.
Daniel’s advice, “You get one shot at life. Right? Who cares what your “job” is right now? It probably isn’t your first and it certainly won’t be your last. So, find out what you would LOVE doing every single day, over and over again, then go for it. If you don’t find it right away, keep working hard until you do. Then, when you get there…pay it forward.”
